Embodying the NDIS ‘Choice and Control’ concept has allowed Support4 U CQ clients to work towards their goals with staff they trust, whom they have a relationship with; not just someone who turns up.
Our client centred approach allows us to ensure that our clients are working towards their goals and reaching outcomes, even though they live in regional/remote Queensland.
Our aim is for clients to get to know our disability support workers well and build a great working relationships, while staff get to be an integral part of the client's life journey.
Our team is passionate about empowering clients and assisting them to reach their full potential. All our Disability Support Workers are enrolled in or completed Certificate III level in either Disability, Aged Care, Independent Support or Community Services; have their Yellow and Blue cards; meet the NDIS requirements of completed modules; are CPR trained and have suicide prevention training. We maintain these qualifications annually as part of our professional development.
Support4 U CQ is a division of DJJL Contracting Pty Ltd, of which Jessica Samuels is the Director.
Having volunteered and worked within Community Services, Aged Care and Disability; Jessica originally started the business in Blackwater in an effort to create change in an industry that had ‘good intentions’ but seemed that implementation was floored.
Creating a different approach, of matching Support Workers with Clients who have similar interests, Support4 U CQ encourages staff and clients to develop a good rapport that assists with us working with client's to reach their goals.
Providing social, community access and home care services for people living with disability in the Central Queensland area, Jessica has been operating the private agency for 5 years.
She is local to Emerald (previously of Blackwater) and has lived all over regional Queensland, mainly in mining towns, though also spanning from the top end in Indigenous communities to the hustle and bustle on the Gold Coast.
Whilst her key focus is managing the business, she is also available as a disability support worker herself with complex clients.
Having extensive experience and passion for working with children on the Autism spectrum, with complex PTSD and other mental health conditions, she genuinely enjoys helping clients to build capacity and independence through facilitating a wide range of engaging and meaningful disability support services and activities.
